Կանադա – Gateway-ը վերսկսում է Cascades Casino-ի կառուցումը Հյուսիսային Բեյում, Օնտարիո

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has restarted construction of its $31m Cascades Casino in North Bay, Ontario, following several months of delays due to COVID-19 restrictions and the winter months.

The 39,000 square-foot casino was put forward in 2019 with an expected opening date of mid-July 2020. It will cover 39,000 square feet and feature 300 slots and eight live table games. It will also be home to Gateway’s signature restaurant brands, MATCH Eatery & Public House and The Buffet.

Rob Mitchell of Gateway said: “We felt we were far enough along with this casino that it made sense to build it out and complete it. Last November we were able to pour the concrete floor and get all the rough-ins in for plumbing and for our cooking and electrical needs. Then we shut down the site for the winter. “At Gateway, we have developed extensive health and safety plans for each of our sites, which also includes two-metres physical distancing, rigorous cleaning and sanitation measures, and the mandatory use of masks for all individuals entering our gaming sites. All our plans have been independently reviewed by a health and safety subject matter expert and have been submitted to the regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.”

North Bay Mayor Al McDonald said: “Happy to hear that they’re going to complete the building because you’re always concerned when you know a project stop. The fact that they’re reinvesting in the city of North Bay just (shows) us that they have confidence and their interest in our city is still there and the fact that they’re going to make this big investment and create the jobs in our community.”

Carrie Kormos, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Gateway Ontario, said: “Our investment of $31m will not only create 300 new jobs in North Bay, but will also provide millions in economic spin-offs throughout construction and with locally sourced goods and services when completed.”
